Team: Under 10aWe are now into our 2nd season. Our first season together was a difficult one, we encountered many teams which had been together longer than us and it showed. However, the improvement as the season wore on was there for all to see. Having lost just 2 players from last year, in came B Johnson and C Butler. They have quickly became integrated into the team as we continue to strive for improvement. So far this season our results have started to reflect our performances.
Last year's Beds Mini Soccer League Division 4 champions step up to 11-a-side this season. A place in division 2 will ensure a tough test for the boys. All 11 squad members from last year's team have been joined by Wood, Calvert & Hollyhand, who will all provide good competition for a place in the team.
Season Review 2009-2010: Our first season at 11-a-side went well. We finished 6th in our league and competed well with all teams. A few new additions to this season will strengthen and improve a squad all capable of playing good football. New players to welcome to the side are Dipace and Robertson, while an old face returns in the form of Darby. Everyone has shown a lot of promise in the pre-season and the management team are hoping for good things this season!!
The Under 12 Alleycats
The Bobcats were formed at the beginning of the 2006-07 season and played in U9 Division 3, the lowest division, of the Beds Mini Soccer League, finishing in eighth out of the eleven teams. The team finished runners-up in both the 2007 BPR Tournament and the Beds FA Fair Play Festival. The Bobcats started the 2007-08 season by finishing third at the Flitwick Eagles tournament. We again played in U10 Division 3 of the Beds Mini Soccer League, however, the league had expanded to four divisions. We again finished eighth, this time out of twelve teams. In tournaments the Bobcats won the Plate at the 2008 MK Wanderers tournament. In season 2008-09 the Bobcats capped their best season to date by becoming the Beds Mini Soccer League Division 2 Champions, winning all but one of their league games. Season 2009-10 sees the team move up to 11-a-side, playing in the Milton Keynes & Border Counties Youth Football League, and also getting their first experience of the Bedfordshire County Cup
The Sabres finished in a well-earned 4th place last season. 5 new players this season have strengthened the squad, to build upon last year's successes.
The Under 13A Team
After an impressive 6th place finish in 2009/10, the Lions will be looking to challenge for the Division 5 championship this year. New signings Daniels and Litson will supplement an established squad that is showing real signs of improvement.
After some initial disapointing results at the start of the season the boys finished the season strongly losing only two of their last eleven matches. The improved form ensured that a respectable 6th place was acheived in division 3. This coming season sets out a new challenge in division 2, the aim being a top half finish. This should be acheivable bearing in mind the solid foundation of the existing players and the inspired signings made prior to the transfer deadline.
A good season-long performance that culminated in winning the play-off for the U17 Division 2 title. With half the squad then "retiring" from football with BPR, the "newly formed" team will play in the U18 Division 2 league for 2010-11.
