As a former BPR player myself, it was always an ambition of mine to manage my own kids team at some stage. This year it has become a reality. Having assembled a team from scratch from 2 trials held in late July, I am proud to have recently seen my team play their first competitive game. With many teams having been together much longer than the few weeks we have, it is going to be a very challenging year. But with both mine and the boy’s enthusiasm, I'm sure it will be an enjoyable one - Gary Canzano

The Bobcats were formed at the beginning of the 2006-07 season and played in U9 Division 3, the lowest division, of the Beds Mini Soccer League, finishing in eighth out of the eleven teams. The team finished runners-up in both the 2007 BPR Tournament and the Beds FA Fair Play Festival. The Bobcats started the 2007-08 season by finishing third at the Flitwick Eagles tournament. We again played in U10 Division 3 of the Beds Mini Soccer League, however, the league had expanded to four divisions. We again finished eighth, this time out of twelve teams. In tournaments the Bobcats won the Plate at the 2008 MK Wanderers tournament. In season 2008-09 the Bobcats capped their best season to date by becoming the Beds Mini Soccer League Division 2 Champions, winning all but one of their league games. Season 2009-10 sees the team move up to 11-a-side, playing in the Milton Keynes & Border Counties Youth Football League, and also getting their first experience of the Bedfordshire County Cup.

Now in their 4th season, the Lions have made an encouraging start to the season. As at the start of November, we stand in 6th place in the league, and have progressed to the second round of the league cup. Overall, the team is gelling nicely and proving to be very competitive in every match.
BPR Tigers were formed at the commencement of the 2004/05 as an Under 10 team. After an average first season finishing 7th in Division 4 of the Filmergraphics League, the team excelled all of our expectations by winning Division 3 the following season as Under 11's. Success continued the following season when moving up to 11 a-side and becoming Division 4 runners up in the Milton Keynes & Borders league. As runners up the boys were promoted at the start of the current 2007/08 season to Division 3. At present the Tigers are in joint 3rd place and although promotion will not be gained this season we will be looking to be in strong contention next season. Apart from all of the above we are particularly proud that the Tigers went through the whole of the 2005/06 & 2006/07 seasons losing a total of only three league matches. We are equally proud that the squad won the Fair Play award during our 2007 tour to the Clacton tournament.

Originally starting out as two under 10 teams, BPR Jaguars and BPR Lynx, in 2002/2003 season, after the players moved on from Hazeldene Lower school where the teams had originated. Both teams carried on until 2006/2007 season. The teams were then merged for the present 2007/2008 season. We are proud that there are still five players in the squad who are now in their sixth season of playing for BPR, having played for BPR since the start of their club football experience, with the majority of others in the squad now in their fourth or fifth season with the club.
I am very proud to be able to say that the squad includes 7 of the BPR U18 team from 08/09 and 6 further former BPR players from previous years. This season we are competing in Division 4 of the Bedfordshire County Football League, the County Cup and the Watson Shield. Paul Mason (Manager BPR Seniors)
